Cuba to Implement Training of State, Gov't Cadres
Cuba will create a Higher School for Cadres of the State and Government, for improving the knowledge of those chosen to lead in different sectors, according to a Council of Ministers meeting report published by the local press on Friday.
The objective is to improve the skills of cadres to carry out their duties in public administration, leadership and business management, Granma newspaper reported, referring to the meeting held last weekend.
Participants in the meeting learned about comprehensive strategies implemented nationwide for the export of services in the next five years, one of the mainstays for boosting national development.
The Council of Ministers meeting, led by President Raul Castro, also heard a report on the assignment of university graduates to different government agencies.
The report noted a persistent shortage of personnel in certain areas, such as the technical, agricultural and economic sciences.
The meeting also heard a report on the functioning and organization of the Commission for Implementation and Development of the Guidelines approved by the 6th Congress of the Cuban Communist Party, held in April.
That commission is charged with leading the functional and structural improvement of the government and the central state administration.
