Cuba Hosts Int''l Training and Local Development Seminar
Researchers and teachers from the universities of Angola, Argentina, Brazil, Ecuador, Colombia, Mexico, Puerto Rico, and Venezuela, are attending from today to Nov. 20 the Third International Scientific Training and Local Development Seminar.
The University of Guantanamo, eastern Cuban province, is hosting this event, in which academicians from Cuban universities will exchange with colleagues from those nations, on the contribution and role of higher education in the development of communities in Third World countries.
The first symposium will be dedicated to the scientific knowledge in local development, chaired by Dr. Jose Antonio Rodriguez Oruña, where the thematic lecture "Training and Local Development as an expression of public policy" will be presented by Colombian specialist, Daniel Barragan.
According to the program, other issues are related to economic management, sustainable agriculture and food sovereignty, environmental training and risk prevention, vulnerabilities and risks, energy and sustainability, social processes and cultural development, and the law and its prospects in Local Development.
