Cuba Hosts Accounting and Management Congress

Latin American Students begin today in this capital the 1st Congress of Accounting and Administration (CONTAD), to promote a professional performance based on social responsibility, ethics, and sustainability.

The forum, to be held at the Havana's Conference Center and concludes on Friday, May 24, should be an opportunity to highlight the development of the region in training accountants, financiers, and administrators.

Maricela Reyes, dean of the School of Accounting and Finance at the University of Havana, expressed reporters recently her gratitude and recognition that the institution has been chosen as the organizer of the event.

The congress includes more than 70 papers, and lectures will be given by experts linked to the Association of Accounting Faculties and Schools.

Some 170 delegates from Argentina, Mexico, Colombia, Paraguay, Uruguay, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Chile, and other nations in the region, are expected to attend the event.
