Cuba to Hold Neurology Conference

Experts from 12 countries are expected to attend the 2009 Neurologic Restoration forum to be held on March 9-13 in Cuba.

Main issues for discussion include rehabilitation of motion disorders, epilepsy and stem cell neural transplantation to treat brain stroke, a promising new technique still on a research stage developed by the International Center of Neurologic Restoration (CIREN).

Master lectures, round tables and poster exhibition on studies on cerebral palsy, neuromuscular diseases, autism, minimum access neurosurgery restoration and support technologies in neurosciences will also figure in the agenda.

The meeting is to be held at the Havana Convention Center. It will mark CIREN´s 20th anniversary. The Center was founded by Cuban Revolution leader Fidel Castro on February 26 1989.
