Cuba to be Represented in African Caravan Against Malaria

Specialists from Labiofam Group will represent Cuba in a promotional event that is part of the multinational project to fight Malaria in the African continent.

Experts Roberto Sanchez and Aramis Martinez arrived to Zimbabwe to join the caravan and race against malaria, after making the appropriate coordination and paperwork.

The event consists of a trip by road that covers the countries of the Southern Africa Development Community (SADC) with the objective to call the attention on peoples and governments on the importance of fighting that disease.

The project, promoted by the foundation Rock back malaria, has the support of the World Health organization, among other international entities and the ministries of Public Health in the countries that comprise the region.

The caravan includes Tanzania, Malawi, Zambia, Democratic Republic of Congo, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Swaziland, South Africa, Angola and Namibia.

During the trip the people involved will carry out communicational prophylactic actions, mainly in border towns where is easy to transmit the disease from one country to another.

Labiofam recently signed a cooperation Memorandum of Understanding with and institution adscribed to the Agriculture Minister in Zimbabwe.

Located in Havana, the Cuban company deals with the development of medicines, and export of biolarvicide, veterinarian drugs, vaccines and diet supplements, among other related products.
