Cuba, Angola Strengthen Parliamentary Ties
Cuban Parliament President Ricardo Alarcon opened today the official program of his five-day visit to Angola, to strengthen parliamentary cooperation ties between both countries.
Alarcon, who arrived in Luanda yesterday from Namibia, starting-point of the trip, will hold official talks at the National Assembly headquarters.
Other activities include visiting Sonils, a logistic entity of the National Fuel Company of Angola, a literacy center, and talk with Education Minister Mpinda Simao.
Alarcon also expects to tour the Special Economic Zone of Viana, the Kapalanca Hospital of that locality, and the new centrality of Kilamba, a housing project destined to resolve housing needs in this country.
Cuban parliamentary leader, who was received in Luanda by Joao Louren, acting president of the Angolan National Assembly, met with the vice president of that organization, Roberto de Almeida, at the national headquarter of the Popular Movement for the Liberation of Angola (MPLA).
In their respective speeches, De Almeida and Alarcon highlighted the close ties of friendship and solidarity that join the MPLA and the Cuban Communist Party.
