Cuba and Slovenia Review Prospects to Expand Ties

The governments of Cuba and Slovenia reviewed bilateral ties and prospects to strengthen them, during an Inter-ministerial Political Consultation Meeting held in this capital, the island''s Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported.

According to the website cubaminrex.cu, Cuban Deputy Foreign Minister Rogelio Sierra talked in the context of that meeting with Marjan Cencen, director general for Bilateral Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Slovenia.

In addition of bilateral issues, the officials discussed the integration processes in Latin America, the Caribbean, and Europe, particularly the prospects of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC), with Cuba as a pro tempore president this year .

The Foreign Ministry said that during the meeting, Cuba thanked Slovenia's support in rejecting the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States to the island for more than 50 years.
