Cuba and Costa Rica Boost Political and Cultural Ties
Governments of Cuba and Costa Rica signed two agreements on Friday aimed at strengthening political and cultural ties.
At the headquarters of the Cuban Foreign Ministry, Havana and San Jose signed a Memorandum of Understanding on political consultation mechanisms to encourage the ongoing exchange on bilateral issues and regional and international interest.
Costa Rican vice Minister of Foreign Affairs and Worship, Carlos Roverssi, Cuban Deputy Foreign Minister Rogelio Sierra signed the document.
Cuba and Costa Rica also materialize an Agreement for Exchange and Cultural Cooperation, which represents the legal framework to develop linkages in the sector.
This second agreement was signed by Cuban Deputy Minister of Culture, Vivian Velunza, and Costa Rican Deputy Minister of Culture and Youth, Ivan Rodriguez.
After the ceremony, Roverssi told Prensa Latina that the mechanisms signed strengthen political relations and cooperation.
We are two brother countries, with common themes to be addressed and a commitment to a more developed Latin American and the pursuit of citizen welfare, despite some differences of view that we have, Roverssi said.
