Chavez to Give Priority to Government, Social Programs

Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez said on Thursday that he will retake his work agenda focusing on the strengthening of the Government and broadening the current socio-economic programs in the country.

"Our priority is to conclude 2011-2012 the best we can do. I am talking about the Grand Mission Housing Venezuela, AgroVenezuela, Grand Mission Learn and Work, the health, and the education missions. That is priority, the social programs, to meet the needs," said the head of State.

Regarding the political field, Chavez said that they will work for strengthening the Grand Patriotic Pole, which will bring together the popular progressive organizations to guarantee the victory in the 2012 elections.

Chavez also made reference to this international agenda, which will include the holding of the summits of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of our America, PetroCaribe in Caracas, and the foundation of the Latin American and Caribbean States Communities (CELAC).

The Venezuelan president made those statements in Tachira state, after returning from Cuba, where he underwent medical tests after four chemotherapy sessions.
