Brazil, Venezuela Assess Relations, Sign Accords

Brazil's President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva and Venezuela's Hugo Chavez are revising on Wednesday the main aspects of the bilateral agenda, and signing cooperation accords on different fields.

The progress in collaboration programs in industry, agriculture, urban development, universalization of bank services, and bordering integration are the essential issues to Lula and Chavez will look into during the eighth meeting of this quarterly bilateral mechanism, created in 2007.

According to reports from the Brazilian Foreign Ministry, the two statesmen should also encourage exchange of experiences about social programs developed in the two countries.

Both Heads of State should also examine issues related to regional integration, taking into account, particularly, the coming Special Summit of the Union of South American Nations, to be held on May 4 in Argentina, the source reported.

Chavez told press that during his stay in Brazil, he will sign at least 13 cooperation mechanisms in petrochemical, agricultural, electrical, financial, and bordering sectors.
