Book on Fidel Castro Makes Headlines in Guayaquil

Ecuadorian media highlighted on Wednesday the launch in Guayaquil of the book "Fidel Castro, Guerrillero del Tiempo" by its autor Katiuska Blanco and Cuban writer and presidential advisor Abel Prieto.

At least 300 people gathered in the Simon Bolivar Hall of the provincial government of Guayas to listen to their explanations about the two-volume, over 1,000-page work.

Attendees included Norma Delgado, the mother of Ecuadorian President Rafael Correa, who talked with the Cuban writers and sent warm greetings to the Cuba's historical leader.

Also attending were local authorities of the Guayaquil municipality, the leader of the Communist Party of Ecuador Winston Alarcon, as well as political, youth, social and intellectual leaders.

A large number of young members of the Alianza Pais Movement participated actively during the cultural event, shouting "Long Live Fidel Castro, the Cuban Revolution and the Citizens' Revolution."
