Bolivia Opposition Accused of Being Violent
Bolivian President, Evo Morales, accused on Friday the political opposition groups of provoking violence before general elections next December 6, in which they know they are doomed.
In a ceremony in commemoration of 64 anniversary of the Colomi city foundation, the president spoke about the attacks that took place in Santa Cruz on Thursday, where young intolerant people threw stones at a ceremony to support him and later they burned the platform.
Those acts affect only the democracy and change process, he warned.
To Morales, those extremist groups that are members of the opposition Progress Plan for Bolivia-National Convergence, which candidate is the ex civil governor Manfred Reyes Villa, shows only that change opponents will everything to stop structural changes, which support most of Bolivian people.
"They will provoke social organizations to cause violent clashes, and even to precipitate the appearance of some dead people in order to sully the election process", he warned.
Morales called social movements and the people to not respond to provocations and continue with the democratic process, which will achieve more strength before elections.
He denounced that opposition sectors with any chance to achieve power, make violent campaigns, which are also supported by other countries.
The president remember the coup staged by enemies of the democratic and culture Revolution with American support in August-September 2008, which failed thanks to popular unity.
In the meantime, he said that the opposition wants to terrify some leaders and their families.
Next December 6, people will decide between two ways: to support the present change process or to return to neoliberal governments.
