Delegations from the Bolivian and Cuban parliaments begin meeting in Havana on Monday to strengthen relations, according to a press release from the Plurinational Legislative Assembly.
 
The Bolivian delegation includes the chairs of the Senate, René Martínez, and of the Chamber of Deputies, Héctor Arce, both from the ruling Movement Toward Socialistm (MAS), the press release said.
 
It is the first time ever that top Bolivian legislators have officially visited their Cuban counterparts.
 
The Bolivian delegation also includes senators Adolfo Mendoza and Gabriela Montaño, president and vice president of the Parliamentary League of Friendship with Cuba, and Senator Javier Zavaleta.
 
According to their agenda, the legislators also will visit the National Assembly of People's Power and will meet with its president, Ricardo Alarcón.
 
Later, they will meet with Bolivian students at the Latin American School of Medicine (ELAM).
 
The Bolivians will end their visit by signing a declaration of both assemblies on international matters, including climate change and the rights of Mother Earth.
