Deepening Cuba-EU Cooperation Considered Possible

Cuban Deputy Foreign Minister, Abelardo Moreno, said there is an almost an endless list of issues that allow to enhance, expand and deepen cooperation between the Caribbean island and the European Union (EU).
 
He announced that both sides will hold the sixth round of negotiations in Brussels in the second two weeks in November.

Panama Interested in Further Trade Relations with Cuba

Panama's President, Juan Carlos Varela, is participating today in a Panamanian-Cuban business forum, as part of a visit that aims to promote trade and bilateral economic relations.
 
Varela traveled to Cuba accompanied by 12 business people from several sectors, led by Minister of Trade and Industry, Meliton Arrocha, who also included in their agenda a tour of the Mariel Special Development Zone (ZEDM), west of Havana.

The brotherhood relations between Vietnam and Cuba were evoked here today at a seminar on the 55 years of solidarity and cooperation between the two countries, where the commitment to continue expanding them was ratified.
 
Issues associated with trade, construction, agriculture, aquaculture, biotechnology, investments, communications and health, among others, were discussed in this meeting, which is part of the program for the anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties, on December 2, 1960.
 

Panamanian President to Meet Raul Castro

Panama's President, Juan Carlos Varela, will hold today a meeting with Cuban President, Raul Castro, in the context of his official visit to the island, which aims to strengthen bilateral relations.
 
As part of his agenda, the head of Panamanian State, who arrived in this capital yesterday, will also visit today the "Solidaridad con Panama" school, an educational center for children with motor problems, which opened in early 80s of last century.
 

Cuban Five to Visit Ecuador Next Week

The Cuban Five -- Gerardo Hernandez, Rene Gonzalez, Ramon Labañino, Antonio Guerrero and Fernando Gonzalez -- will visit Ecuador next week, according to Cuba's Embassy in Quito.
 
According to reports from the Ecuadorean capital, the Five will fly to Quito on Friday, September 25th, at the invitation of President Rafael Correa. They will discuss topics of interest and attend political activities during their stay in Ecuador.
 

Cuban President Raul Castro Will Address UN General Assembly

Cuban President Raul Castro will travel to the U.S. to present a speech at the UN General Assembly on September 28th, Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez announced on Wednesday.
 
The Cuban head of state will also participate at the September 25th Assembly session, which will be attended by Pope Francis, according to the foreign minister during a press conference where he presented the Cuban annual report on the impact of the U.S. economic blockade on Cuba.

The Operation Miracle, involving Cuban health collaborators offering free eye surgery to poor people in Paraguay, continued its program of ophthalmology screening, this time in Ciudad del Este, reported the leadership of the brigade.
 
This program over the weekends is being carried out by specialists in coordination with Foundation TUPI, devoted to social activities with the elderly.
