Cuban Vice President Visits Pushkin Institute in Russia

The first Vice president of the Councils of State and Ministers of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel, today conducted a working visit to the State Institute of Russian Language, Alexander Pushkin on the conclusion of his first official visit to the Federation, in a tour that also included Belarus.
 
The Cuban leader held an exchange at that higher education center with the Deputy Minister of Education, Veniamin Kaganov, and rector Margaret Rusetskaya.
 

LASA Congress Concludes in New York

The 34th Congress of the Latin American Studies Association (LASA) will conclude here on Monday, after four days of debates, lectures and academic meetings on the region and its challenges.
 
Hundreds of researchers and experts in Latin America's situation have gathered at the New York Hilton Midtown since last Friday to analyze political, cultural and economic issues such as integration, inclusive development, poverty, identity, the impact of neoliberalism, the situation of the left wing and relations with the United States.
 

Deputy Prime Minister of Belgium to Visit Cuba

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of Belgium Didier Reynders will arrive in Cuba on an official visit tomorrow, said the Cuban Foreign Ministry.
 
According to that source, as part of his program in Havana, Reynders will hold talks with Vice President of the Council of Ministers Ricardo Cabrisas and carry out other activities.
 
On Friday, Reynders and Cuban ambassador to Belgium Norma Goicochea, shared views on bilateral relations.
 

Cuban First Vice President Praises Ties with St. Petersburg

Cuban First Vice President Miguel Diaz-Canel praised today the historical links between this country and Saint Petersburg, the second largest city in Russia.
 
Diaz-Canel was received at the Palace of Smolny by the governor of that city Georgy Poltavchenko, to whom he told about young Cubans Aldo and Jorge Vivó, who lived in Saint Petersburg, then Leningrad, at the time of Hitler's invasion, the first of them gave his life for the cause of Soviet people.
 

Cuban First Vice President Visits Russian Scientific Center

The First Vice President of the Councils of State and Ministers of Cuba, Miguel Diaz-Canel, learned today about the strategies of the Skolkovo Foundation for development and commercialization of new technologies during a visit to its facilities.
 
Victor Vekselberg, head of the nonprofit organization created by the government in September, 2010, shared with the Cuban leader and the delegation about Skolkovo's projects, which aim to accelerate Russia's transformation from a country supplying hydrocarbons, into an economy based in innovation.
 

Russia and Cuba Review Common Goals

Cuban President Receives Special Envoy of DPRK Leader

President, Raul Castro, met Kim Yong Chol, member of the Political Bureau of the Workers'' Party of Korea (WPK) and special envoy of the leader of that organization, it was reported here today.
 
During the meeting held in a fraternal atmosphere yesterday afternoon, both sides confirmed the interest to continue strengthening the historical relations that join the two parties, governments and peoples, an official note said.
 

President Maduro Meets Cuban Foreign Minister

President, Nicolas Maduro, met Cuban Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bruno Rodriguez, who is concluding a two-day visit to the South American nation today.
Maduro, who returned from a tour of Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago, received the Cuban foreign minister and his accompanying delegation on Monday night. They discussed issues of common interest, a diplomatic source said.
 
Referring to the fraternal meeting, Venezuelan Foreign Minister, Delcy Rodríguez, posted on her Twitter account that 'Latin America united will never be defeated!'
 

Belarus, Cuba Boost Cooperation with High-Level Visit

The meeting between President, Alexander Lukashenko, and Cuban First Vice President of the Council of State and the Council of Ministers, Miguel Diaz-Canel, will today confirm their mutual desire to promote multi-sectoral cooperation.
 
During a meeting with the Cuban leader yesterday, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Evgeny Shestakov, declared that during the talks Lukashenko and Diaz-Canel will analyze important aspects of bilateral cooperation and an international agenda.
