Cuba and Irak to strengthen bilateral ties

Cuban Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bruno Rodríguez, spoke today on telephone with his counterpart from Irak, Fuad Husseein, and they agreed on the interest of strengthening bilateral ties.
 
Rodríguez detailed in his X account that they also spoke about multilateral coordination in the context of the G77 and China to face common challenges, as well as common themes of the regional and international agenda.

President of Sri Lanka will travel to Cuba for G77 and China Summit

Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe will leave next week for Cuba to participate in the upcoming Summit of the G77 and China to be held in Havana on September 15 and 16.
 
To further strengthen cooperation between Sri Lanka and Cuba, there are plans for bilateral talks between Wickremesinghe and his counterpart Miguel Díaz-Canel, in parallel to the Summit.
 
The digital site Adaderana recalled that Wickremesinghe's participation in the summit occurs as a result of an official invitation from Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel.

Brazil for boosting trade and rebuilding ties with Cuba

A delegation of some 30 Brazilian businessmen will travel to Havana today to boost trade with Cuba and rebuild bilateral relations, as the most recent step of the government of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.
 
Journalistic media assure that the four-day mission will take place before Lula's trip to Cuba, where he will meet with his Cuban counterpart, Miguel Díaz-Canel, and will participate in the meetings of the G77 and China on September 15 and 16.

Cuban president reviews preparations for the new school year

Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel on Tuesday checked the preparations for the start, on September 4, of the 2023-2024 school year, the first after the COVID-19 pandemic, which will be 46 weeks.
At the meeting, the President insisted on the need to provide differentiated attention to education sector workers who work in complex conditions.
He also indicated that a proposal should be drawn up to include periodic medical check-ups and consultations, in addition to the offer by local governments of affordable commercial options.

Cuban president begins African tour in Angola

Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel arrives today in Angola on an official visit, where he will begin a tour of Africa that includes Mozambique, Namibia and South Africa, the latter to participate in the Brics Summit.

Announcing the trip the day before, the president said on his Twitter account that these are sister nations to which the island is united by a history of solidarity at all costs.
