Army General Raúl Castro Ruz, President of the Councils of State and Ministers, returned to Cuba this Tuesday, September 27.
Raúl and the delegation that accompanied him during his visit to Colombia were welcomed at the José Martí international airport by compañero José Ramón Machado Ventura, second secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba.
 
Among other activities, the Cuban leader attended the liturgy held at San Pedro Claver Cathedral, officiated by Vatican Secretary of State Cardinal Pietro Parolin; participated in the official signing of the Final Peace Accord between the Colombian government and the Revolutionary Armed Forces-People’s Army of Colombia; and dedicated a special moment to pay tribute to Gabriel García Márquez, with whom he would very much have liked to share this new era of peace building in Colombia.
