Operation Miracle Treats Thousands of Paraguayans
The Operation Miracle program carried out in the South American country by Cuban eye doctors have treated more than 8,000 low-income Paraguayans which have had their sight restored in the last three years.
Some 5,000 residents and local and national authorities attended a ceremony held in recognition of the project in the city of Pilar, reported Prensa Latina news agency.
Several speakers at the activity, mostly patients, praised the work of the 23 Cubans providing their services at the Maria Auxiladora Ophthalmological Center.
The doctors were recognized for their professionalism, ethics and humanism.
