Meeting of Cubans residing in Latin America will advocate unity
The 6th Meeting of Cuban Residents in Latin America and the Caribbean will take place in Venezuela between June 16th and 18th, and will advocate the unity of the movement in its condemnation of the United States blockade aginst Cuba, one of the organizers declared.
The coordinator of the network, Humberto Pérez, who lives in Panama, told Prensa Latina that they will evaluate the actions performed since 2021 at the regional level by each of the national groups.
In his words, the 6th Meeting will take place under the motto “Building bridges for growth”, and will strengthen the message of aid to Cuba, to move forward, counting on all emigrants regardless of ideologies or beliefs.
“Raising once again the message about our disagreement with the unjust sanctions that have weighed on the Cuban families for over 60 years and the exclusion of Cuba from the list of countries that sponsor or support terrorism” will be other axes of the event, Pérez added.
The delegates will debate initiatives in defense of Cuba and its sovereignty; as well as to promote the repudiation of the blockade enforced by the United States government.
The event will approve a Final Declaration and a special panel is expected to be attended by the Cuban duo Buena Fe, which will discuss the media and personal harrassment against Cuban artists.
The 5th Meeting of Cuban Residents in Latin America and the Caribbean was held in 2021 virtually due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
