Guyana Thanks Cuban Health Cooperation

The Minister of Health of Guyana, Bheri Ramsaran thanked Cuba's help in the training of doctors, which will improve the standard of living of the population, today reported the official news agency GINA.

During a meeting with a group of young Guyanese who recently graduated in Cuba, Ramsaran emphasized that collaboration of Havana will have a major impact in improving national health services.

Shamdeo Persaud, ministry official, said that Guyana needs more specialists and announced a new health strategy in the country.

Hundreds of Guyanese have graduated in medicine in Cuba in recent years, GINA said.
