China will Stand by Cuba in Difficult Times, said Chinese Diplomat
China´s ambassador to Havana Zhao Rongxian affirmed his country’s solidarity with the Cuban people and its determination to continue supporting the Caribbean nation in today’s difficult times.
In an interview published by Granma newspaper, the Chinese diplomat said he was pleased to see that his country’s goods are part of everyday life in Cuba. At present, China is Cuba’s second major trade partner, while both countries shared very close bilateral links in the areas of economy, culture and politics.
Zhow Rongxian recalled the successful Olympic Games hosted by Beijing, as well as the development of China’s space program which, he said it is not the result of any miracle, but of the sustained and hard work of the Chinese people.
The Chinese ambassador stressed that his people will keep working hard in order to show the superiority of the Socialist system; he also said that the Marxist theory must be actively developed according to China’s realities.
China will make efforts to further improve fields such as health care, education, public services, social security, employment, housing, said Rongxian, and he noted that his country will also strengthen the struggle against corruption, an issue closely addressed by the recent National Congress of China’s Communist Party.
Zho Rongxian also affirmed his country’s rejection of separatist attempts by reactionary elements in the historically Chinese territories of Tibet and China Taipei. He also underscored good relations between his country and neighbors like Russia, India and Viet Nam.
