Cuban Vicepresident Ramiro Valdes will pronounce the central speech for the activity to commemorate the 61st anniversary of the Rebeliousness Day in the western province of Artemisa.

Valdes was one of the men from Artemisa who participated in the assualt to the Moncada Garrison on July 26, 1953, an action that started the armed struggle against the dictatorship of Fulgencio Batista.

Artemisa, located at the west of Havana, is a province formed by 11 municipalities with a total extension of 4,004 square kilometres and a population of 502,392 inhabitants.

The activity will start at 7:30 local time.
