Argentinian Foreign Minister, Cuban Delegation in Productive Meeting

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Argentine, Héctor Timerman, met today with First Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment in Cuba, Antonio Carricarte, who described as fruitful the exchange of ideas they shared to boost the economic links.

"It was a very positive meeting, in which we totally agreed on how we should work to deepen our economic and commercial relations particularly in the framework provided by the new foreign investment law passed recently in Cuba", told Carricarte to Prensa Latina after concluding the meeting.

The meeting was also attended by Carlos Bianco, Undersecretary for Investment Development and Commercial Promotion of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on the Argentinian side and by Cubans Ambassador Jorge Lamadrid and First Vice President of group BioCubaFarma, Dr. José Luis Fernández.

We also agreed on searching sectors for complementing each other and promote integration in biotechnology, tourism, manufacturing equipment, agricultural implements, stated Carricarte.

Others of the ideas addressed at the meeting, which took place at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, was that both countries work together also to third markets, as well as the possibility of increasing the Cuban exports to Argentina of biotechnological drugs and genetic engineering.

Summarizing, it was a strategically important, and very fruitful meeting, pointed out Carricarte.
