Africa: US Blockade Causes Sufferings to Cuban People

Head of the Mozambique-Cuba Friendship Association Marcelino Dos Santos denounced that the US blockade against Cuba causes terrible sufferings to the Cuban people, so it should be abolished with help of the international community.

During his intervention at the third African Meeting of Solidarity with Cuba, which is being held at Talatona hotel with the participation of delegations from 18 countries, Dos Santos stated that the economic, trade and financial restrictions represent an attack to the freedom and sovereignty of Jose Martis homeland.

Dos Santos demanded, on behalf of the people of Mozambique, the liberation of the Cuban Five, imprisoned in US jails since 1998.

We are asking president Obama to send back home the sons of Cuba, who were just monitoring the actions of terrorist groups in Miami, Florida, he pointed out.

Gerardo Hernandez, Ramon Labañino, Fernando Gonzalez, Antonio Guerrero and Rene Gonzalez are a clear example of citizens that did not betray their revolutionary principles, he stated.
