A Cuban delegation led by Vice Minister of Culture Fernando Rojas arrives in the Russian capital on Tuesday to take part in the 23rd International Book Fair from September 1 to 16.
 
Rojas is accompanied by Cuban Book Institute president Zuleica Romay Guerra, writers, and publishing house representatives.
 
Vladimir Gregoriev, deputy director of Federal Agency on Press and Mass Communications of Russia, ROSPECHAT, told Prensa Latina on Monday that Russia was awaiting the arrival of the Cuban delegation.
 
Gregoriev recalled that Russia took part as guest country of honor at the 19th Havana International Book Fair in February.
 
As part of the Moscow book fair, the president of the Cuban Book Institute and the deputy director of ROSPECHAT will sign a memorandum for joint publishing projects.
 
Cuban ambassador Juan Valdes Figueroa told Prensa Latina that Cuba would present various books at the fair, including a Russian translation on the political thinking of Cuban revolutionary leader Fidel Castro.
 
A new book by Fidel Castro, The Strategic Victory, will also be presented at the fair, where publishers have shown interest in that book, the ambassador said.
