Pastors for Peace Deliveries Medicine in Haiti

The US religious organization Pastors for Peace put in the hands of Cuban physicians an important donation to Haiti, which will arrive in free to the people of this suffered country.

The cargo, comprised of surgical and medical materials, beds, and medicines, is under protection of the Cuban Medical Brigade, Manolo de los Santos, assistant of Pastor for Peace leader Reverend Lucius Walker, told Prensa Latina.

The donation, valued at $250.000, includes support for the Dominican-Haitian Women Society. It has an orphanage in the city of Leoganne.

As well as the referred material to support health in the country, devastated by the January 12 earthquake, "Pastor for Peace brings the Haitian people a message of love, peace, sorrow and shame for damages, deaths, and orphans, for all what they have lost," De los Santos said.

The Pastor for Peace representative stated that to collect support in the United States for the Haitian people was very difficult, because people have been very hurt with what happened in this country.

In addition of medicines and surgical material, the objective of the religious group is to send a second group of US physicians graduated in Cuba in the Latin American School of Medicine.
