Cuban Education Brigade Extolled in Bahamas
The permanent secretary of the Ministry of Education of Bahamas, Elma Garraway, extolled the work of 19 Cuban teachers of "Felix Varela" brigade, to conclude its three-year mission in that country.
At the official farewell ceremony, the official expressed admiration for the performance of collaborators and thanked, on behalf of her people, the services provided in public schools since 2003, when the project began.
Garraway emphasized the humanistic value of the workers and the importance of the program, focused on the educational needs of children and young Bahamians.
Meanwhile, the Cuban Ambassador to Nassau, Jose Luis Ponce, highlighted the achievements of his country in the training of professionals and made a call to have always Fernando Gonzalez, Antonio Guerrero, Gerardo Hernandez, Ramon Labañino and René González present.
More than 70 teachers of Spanish, Mathematics, Science, Physical Education, Special, Technical and Professional have worked on several Bahamian schools in the last seven years.
