Cuban Slogan Turns 50
A paradigmatic Cuban slogan is marking on Monday 50 years old with certainty of being an expression of the people's struggle and victory.
Faced with complex situations, threats and dangers, in moments of revolutionary reaffirmation and extreme circumstances, most of Cubans say: "Homeland or Death! We shall overcome!"
The calendar marked June 7, 1960 when Revolution leader Fidel Castro said the last word to the dilemma launched three months before, during the burial to the victims of the explosion of the French freighter La Coubre occurred in Havana.
Since then, the slogan represents a conviction, and faced with imperfections, natural disasters, blockades of any kind, lies and blackmails, it emerged as an antidote.
