Cuban President Meets Catholic Church Authorities

Cuban President Raul Castro met Havana's Archbishop, Cardinal Jaime Ortega, and Santiago de Cuba's Archbishop and President of the Catholic Bishops Conference of Cuba, Monsignor Dionisio Garcia.

During Wednesday's meeting, some issues of common interest were analyzed, especially the favourable development of relations between the Catholic Church and the Cuban State and the current domestic and foreign situation, Granma daily reported on Thursday.

Chief of Office of Attention to Religious Affairs of the Central Committee of the Communist Party in Cuba Caridad Diego also attended the meeting.
