Cuba Is Not Alone

Lebanese people, Palestinians and Arabs in general spoke out in this capital against the European Union (EU)'s hostility and the US aggressive policy against Cuba, and promised on Tuesday to push forward a friendship campaign. The Lebanese Committee of Solidarity for the release of five Cuban anti-terrorist fighters unfairly imprisoned in the United States almost 12 years ago staged a sit-in in front of the EU Mission in Beirut.

Under the motto "Cuba is not alone," more than one hundred of friends from Cuba denounced a media campaign against Cuba, its Revolution and people, encouraged by right wing circles in Europe and the United States.

The solidarity initiative with the Caribbean nation was held on Sunday, simultaneously with similar activities carried out in Spain and several European capitals, to protest against the Group of 27's stance.

"This is part of a media, political, diplomatic and economic harassment against Cuba," participants in the event denounced as they hoisted Cuban flags, photos of the five Cubans unfairly incarcerated in US jails for thwarting anti-terrorist actions.
