Huge Solidarity Act with Cuba in Sao Paulo
About 200 Brazilians, among them historic activists of the movement of solidarity with Cuba in this country, are attending on Wednesday an act to support the Cuban Revolution.
Rallied in front of the Cuban Consulate in Sao Paulo, participants are carrying an enormous Cuban flag, shouting slogans in favor of the Caribbean island and against the attempts of trying to offend it, and singing revolutionary songs.
Max Altman, member of the International Relations Secretariat at the Workers' Party (PT), told Prensa Latina that his presence and that of his partners is to give a convincing response to those who pretend to attack the Cuban Revolution.
This act to support the Cuban Revolution is a small reward to that immerse solidarity of the island's people and government with the humble of the world, the PT leader stated.
Historic fighters against the military dictatorship in Brazil (1964-1985), and activists of the movement of solidarity with Cuba in this country as Elsa Lobos, Aton Font and Yamil Murad, among others, are attending the event.
Members of the Sao Paulo Movement of Solidarity with Cuba, the Association of Cuban Residents in Brazil, the Sao Paulo chapter, local deputies, the World March of Women, the Brazilian Labor Union, and the Confederation of Brazil's Workers, are also participating in the solidarity act.
Also including are Brazil's Landless Workers Movement, which convened the activity, as well as the parties of Workers, Socialism and Freedom, the Communist Party in Brazil, the Marxist-Leninist Communist Party, and the Revolutionary Communist Party, among other Brazilian progressive and solidarity groups.
