Campaign against Cuba Condemned in Russia

The Association of Cubans Residents in Russia rejected the political and media campaign against Cuba for alleged human rights violations.

The organization denounced in a statement approved in that capital the double standards applied by the United States to prosecute human rights.

The document states that the Cuban Revolution has shown for more than half a century a development of first class health, education and people's care, one of main people's rights, something that lacks the vast majority of the US people.

The association also condemned the imprisonment since 1998 of five Cuban anti-terrorists that from the US territory prevented his country from further attacks and whose most basic human rights, including family visits, are denied by Washington.

Physics Nobel, Russian Zhorev Alfiorov, Communist Party deputy and Alexander Melnikov, its vice-president signed the so-called Mexican chapter of the declaration of intellectuals from around the world In Defence of Cuba document.

The legislative rejected the rejected the cynicism of the West by calling for respect for human rights in Cuba, while thousands of people die every day in the so called Third World nations due to the politics of rich peoples.
