PAHO/WHO Endorse Cuba''s Health Achievements

Lea Guido Lopez, PAHO/WHO representative in Cuba, acknowledged the island's outstanding results in health, education and social welfare.

During the Global Forum for Health Research 2009, taking place in this capital, the expert stated that the nation has high-quality health policies.

"The country has been an example on how to make things better, not only in the technological field, but also in ideas and strategies," Doctor Guido said.

The Forum's future looks focus on the generalized primary attention, where Cuba has a great experience, she explained.

The Global Forum was opened at the Havana's Conference Center on November 16 to 20. More than 800 delegates from 80 nations are attending the event.

Health finance, how to maximize investments, utility on associations for the development of products, and cooperation on health issue among southern countries were debated on Tuesday.
