Cubans in Bolivia Decry US Blockade
Participants in the second meeting of Cuban residents in Bolivia have focused their debates on the 50-year-old US blockade of the island nation.
They will also review the initiatives carried out his year, as a result of which 187 countries voted a Cuban resolution condemning Washington's hostile measure at the United Nations.
Participants in the meeting will take further actions this year and in 2010 to demand the release of five Cuban antiterrorists held in US prisons since 1998.
They will also denounce the violations of elementary rights of Gerardo Hernandez, Rene Gonzalez, Ramon Labañino, Antonio Guerrero and Fernando Gonzalez.
Cuban culture and national identity, as well as the work of associations of Cuban residents in Bolivia and their relations with Cuba solidarity movements will be among the topics to be debated at the meeting.
