Cuban First Vicepresident Jose Ramon Machado Ventura stated that working is the only secure formula to overcome the world economic and financial crisis, Granma newspaper reported.

During a tour of the western Cuban provinces of Matanzas, Machado Ventura said that the golden formula to go forwards amid the world crisis is to work and produce more, with increasingly rationality.

The island's top official met with workers from the Varadero 1000 oil well, an effort carried out by Cuban staff, who wait to drill it before September 15.

Machado Ventura also visited industrial plants, a formerly unhealthy neighborhood, and some agricultural production companies from several municipalities of that territory.
