Claim against US blockade against Cuba returns to UN

The international demand to put an end to the United States blockade against Cuba on Wednesday once again tops the agenda of the UN General Assembly, which has already expressed its rejection to that mechanism on 28 previous occasions.
 
The draft resolution calling for an end to that siege imposed by Washington more than six decades ago will be submitted at the multilateral forum this Wednesday, and then it will be voted on.
 

EU affirms that US blockade against Cuba affects its interests

The European Union (EU) warned that the blockade imposed by the United States against Cuba has a negative impact on its interests and reiterated its rejection to the extraterritoriality of that policy, in a report available on Monday.
 
The 27 EU member states with headquarters in Brussels set a position regarding the report drawn up by UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres at the request of the United Nations General Assembly in its 2019 resolution about the necessity to put an end to the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by Washington against Cuba.

NY groups reject US blockade against Cuba

Several NY groups in solidarity with Cuba strongly rejected the US blockade against the Caribbean nation and called for the end of a policy that has been only damaging the Cuban people.

The relevance of Fidel Castro's speech, known as Words to Intellectuals, is the focus of a debate this Wednesday among Cuban creators in the forum Dialogar, dialogar, an event meant for dialogue and discussion, organized by the Hermanos Saíz Association (AHS).
 
On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of that speech delivered during the first meeting of the historic leader of the Revolution with writers and artists at the National Library, several young people will exchange on Cuban cultural policy and its role in the current scenario.
 

Intense solidarity with Cuba in Spain in June

Numerous activities of solidarity with Cuba will take place in Spain starting June 19, demanding the end of the U.S. blockade.
 
Members of solidarity movements with the Caribbean island and Cubans living in Europe will also close a campaign to raise funds to purchase syringes.
 
The initiative contemplates sending three million syringes to Cuba, for which the State Movement of Solidarity with Cuba (MESC) is already very close to achieving the goal.
 

Swedish cities to host actions condemning blockade against Cuba

Several Swedish cities will host activities on Saturday, June 12, to reject the US blockade against Cuba, as part of a world day condemning that policy, Zoltan Tiroler, president of the Swedish-Cuban Solidarity Association, announced on Wednesday.
 
Speaking to Prensa Latina, he stated that a letter was circulated to the association's affiliates in the Scandinavian country, calling for actions to demand the end of the economic, commercial and financial siege imposed against Cuba.
 

Cuba thanks ALBA-TCP for its support against U.S. blockade

Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez today thanked the countries of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America-People's Trade Agreement (ALBA-TCP) for their support for Cuba against the U.S. blockade.
 
In his Twitter account, the Foreign Minister noted that 'the solidarity of the peoples and governments of Our America has been vital in the face of inhumane policies and economic asphyxiation'.
 

US blockade affects Cuba's private sector

Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez on Monday denounced the impact of the US blockade on private businesses in Cuba, which have been significantly affected by the intensification of that policy.
 
On his Twitter account, the head of Cuban diplomacy noted that while the US Government claims to support that sector and seeks its prosperity, it maintains measures that hinder its development and restrict access to the US market.
 

Cuba condemns U.S. financing for destabilizing policies

Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez condemned on Tuesday the U.S. government's request for 20 million dollars to carry out disinformation actions and promote confrontational courses against the Caribbean nation.
 
The foreign minister denounced on Twitter how Washington, which repudiates alleged interference in its internal affairs, once again earmarked millions within the 2022 budget for a  democracy programs' aimed at Havana.
