Vilma Espín honored on International Women's Day

Yesterday March 8, on International Women's Day, the eternal president of the Federation of Cuban Women (FMC), Vilma Espín Guillois, was honored for her decisive contribution to women's equality.
 
The tribute to the heroine of the guerilla and underground struggles took place at the site where her ashes rest in the monumental mausoleum to the heroes and martyrs of the Frank País García Second Eastern Front, founded by Comandante Raúl Castro Ruz, where she joined the armed struggle and fought until the Revolution triumphed in 1959.

Cuban Women: Empowerment and Rights for a Celebration

Women's empowerment, and gender and rights equality are some of the achievements Cuba is showing today on occasion of the International Women's Day.

Caribbean Nations Coordinate New Cooperation Projects

Argentina to Open University Chairs on Fidel Castro's Legacy

Two University Departments, one in Buenos Aires and another one in Cordoba will deepen in the thoughts and legacy of historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro when they are inaugurated on March 9 and 10.
 
The initiative emerged from the resolution of the most recent continental Movement to Alba (sunrise) -Bolivarian Alliance of the Peoples of Ourt America-Trade Treaty of the Peoples (ALBA-TCP) to créate in all the countries of that bloc the professorship Fidel Castro in all countries of the bloc.
 

ALBA-TCP Summit Opens in Caracas in Honor of Hugo Chavez

With the presence of presidents, prime ministers and guests from several countries, the 14th ALBA-TCP Summit opened in Caracas today, paying tribute to the revolutionary leader Hugo Chavez.
 
On the fourth anniversary of Chavez's death (1954-2013) on Sunday, the member countries of the Bolivarian Alliance of the Peoples of Our Americas-People's Trade Agreement (ALBA-TCP) are meeting in this capital to boost Latin American integration.
 

Cuban Medical Brigade Celebrates 11 Years of Work in Bolivia

Several speakers highlighted the role the Cuban Medical Brigade (BMC) has played in Bolivia and its support for the My Health program, during an event to celebrate the 11th anniversary of the group''s work in this Amazonian Andean nation.
 
The first Cuban collaborators who arrived here in 2006 were members of the Henry Reeve contingent and came here to attend to the victims of heavy rains.
 
The collaborators have been working in all nine Bolivian departments, in 36 provinces and 47 municipalities, BMC National Coordinator Pavel Noa said.

Palestinians in Lebanon Pay Tribute to Fidel Castro and Hugo Chavez

The Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP) paid posthumous tribute today to the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, and late Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, whom they praised as paradigms of solidarity and resistance.
 
The DFLP political bureau handed over to the charge d'affaires of the Cuban Embassy in Lebanon, Raul Madrigal, some plaques of recognition of the recently-deceased Cuban statesman and the Bolivarian leader, who passed away four years ago today.
 

Hugo Chavez Earned a Place in History

Commander Hugo Chavez, the undisputable leader of the Bolivarian Revolution in Venezuela, took a path during his life that led him from Sabaneta, in the state of Barinas, to the history of the deep changes currently taking place in that South American country.
 
Four years after his death, he is remembered for his singular personality, capable of capturing the most diverse popular sentiments, in addition to the influence of his military training in the school he enrolled in 1971.
 

La Coubre, Another Example of Unpunished Terrorism against Cuba

With the sabotage of the CIA to the French freighter La Coubre, 15 months after the revolutionary triumph of January 1, 1959, Cuba realized the scale of the battle it had to face in order to defend its right to sovereignty.
 
That fact, unpunished to this day, showed the world the determination of the Cubans to face all the aggressions, when in the burial to the victims the Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro pronounced the historical slogan Patria o Muerte (Homeland or Death), that since then the Revolution raised in all their struggles.
