- Arrival in the Capital of the Republic of Cuba where he was welcomed by the people with boundless enthusiasm. Commander Camilo Cienfuegos met him in El Cotorro.
- A visit to Granma Yatch where he had a brief talk with the Head of the Navy.
- Address delivered to the people from the Presidential Palace’s northern terrace.
- Speech delivered in a large mass ceremony at Columbia Military Camp (Libertad (Freedom) School City today). In his speech, he stressed the decisive role played by the general strike in overthrowing tyranny and pointed out: “I believe that this is a decisive moment in our history. The tyranny has been overthrown. Our joy is immense. However, much remains to be done.”
