- He was present at an extraordinary and patriotic mass meeting in Baire, Oriente, in commemoration of the beginning of the 1895 Independence War. In his speech, he reinforced Martí’s ideals in the Revolution.
- Speech delivered at the Provincial Farmers’ Congress whose closing ceremony was held at Moncada Barracks Regiment Theater in Santiago de Cuba, in which he announced the beginning of the Agrarian Reform.
