The Vice President of the National Assembly of Vietnam, Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, today highlighted the extraordinary efforts of the Cuban people to overcome difficulties, bravely facing the sabotage and the "unjust and inhumane" blockade imposed to this Caribbean country by the United States.
In summarizing the calebration for the 54th anniversary of the Cuban Revolution, at the headquarters of the VNA agency, she stressed that for more than half a century it has been possible under the guidance of the Communist Party of Cuba, led by leader Fidel Castro and President Raul Castro.
The also secretary of the central committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and head of the Friendship Association with Cuba, expressed her conviction that the Cubans will overcome the challenges and will successfully implemented the resolution of the sixth congress of its party on updating the socioeconomic model, to maintain and multiply social gains.
She also added her voice to the condemnation of the U.S. blockade and for the release of the Cuban Five arrested in U.S. for over 14 years ago for monitoring criminal actions organized by terrorist groups from the U.S. territory against Cuba.
For his part, Cuban Ambassador Fredesman Turro, after evaluating the deep transformations in the country since 1959, with great sacrifices and amid constant threats, aggressions and pressures, said that 2012 was difficult but also have progresses.
