Cuba and Costa Rica will strengthen their bilateral links here today with the official visit of the Costa Rican Foreign Minister, Enrique Castillo.
According to the Cuban Foreign Ministry, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Worship of Costa Rica will hold official talks with his Cuban counterpart Bruno Rodriguez.
The visitor's agenda also includes meetings with officials from the Ministry of Foreign Trade and the signing of a Cooperation Agreement between the two governments.
Diplomatic relations were restored between the two parties on 26 June 2009.
Bilateral ties and cooperation between Cuba and Costa Rica are developed primarily in the area of culture, sport and the environment.
Currently there are 144 Costa Ricans studying in Cuba, 140 of them in the area of health, and since 1961 Cuba has graduated 284 students from Costa Rica.
