Cycling Tour of Cuba in Solidarity with Cuban 5 Concludes

After 18 stages and more than 1,500 kilometers, the cycling tour by a group of young people in solidarity with the five Cuban antiterrorit fighters unjustly held in the United States concludes today in the island''s easternmost region.
The tour started by five riders from Guantanamo on March 16 in Punta de Maisi, to support the cause of Gerardo Hernandez, Ramon Labañino, Antonio Guerrero, Fernando Gonzalez and Rene Gonzalez, will conclude in Cape San Antonio in Pinar del Rio.
The Five, as the antiterrorist fighters are universally known, were detained in 1998, for Miami-based violent groups that organized actions against Cuba, such as those that have left more than 3,300 dead and other 2,000 disabled.
The cycling tour concludes just few hours before the celebrations for the 51st anniversary of the Young Communist League, an organization founded on April 4, 1962.
The riders of La Farola cycling club, of the eastern province of Guantanamo, have held meetings with people from different sectors of the society, who receive them at their arrival to the Cuban cities and towns.
