Cuba exposes today the use of new technologies and Internet in media campaigns in order to distort the reality of the nation, announced member of Parliament Aixa Hevia.

The island has expressed its position and interest in including in the statement the governmentâ�Ös concern about the use of internet and media campaigns against our country, she told Prensa Latina.

During discussion of the 128th Assembly of the Interparliamentary Union (UIP) today, Cuba will denounce the illegal funding received by mercenaries to try to subvert order and the use of new technologies through the web, something that is wrong in any country in the world. Hevia participates in the Third Permanent Committee on Democracy and Human Rights, which analyzes the use of various media, including social media, to increase the participation of citizens and improve democracy.

She added that as in other international forums, Cuba will set positions today in a much more complex world, hit by financial and values crisis.

Ecuador is home to the parliamentary event which brings together 1.200 assembly members of 168 countries. The event will end on March 27.
