Russia Supreme Court President Viacheslav M. Lebedev and his Cuban counterpart Ruben Remigio signed today a protocol paving the way for regular consultation and communication to promote judicial cooperation and exchange on legal know-how and staff.
In a news briefing, Lebedev described his visit to Cuba as important because the protocol upgrades the bilateral agreement signed in 2002 and creates better opportunities to develop cooperation in judicial matters, especially in exchanges on the practice of jurisprudence and its improvement.
Remigio, on behalf of Cuba, termed the protocol an opportunity to exhange expertise to fully enjoy civil liberties and enrich both countries' historic friendship.
The agenda for Lebedev delegation --the court presidents of Saratov and Stavropol regions, Judge Vasily N. Tarasov and Judge Alexander Yu. Korchaguin-- features exchanges with Cuban Attorney General Dario Delgado and Justice Minister Maria Esther Reus.
