Cooperativism in China is one of the issues that some 160 jurists, judges and lawyers from 13 nations are debating in this capital at the 8th International Congress on Agrarian Law.
The issue was presented by Franco Benussi, from the Faculty of Law at the University of Piacenza, Italy, who is a member of the Cuban Agrarian Law Society.
Cooperatives, food crisis and the importance of strengthening the cooperative model to fight that scourge were also debated.
The program also includes a paper on concrete experiences of second-degree cooperatives in Cuba between 1982 and 1986, and the events of that productive movement as a source of agrarian law.
The congress will conclude on Thursday after the lecture "Cooperativism as a Main Factor of Development," by Victor M. Pantigoso, from the Peruvian Institute of Agrarian and Environmental Law, and the approval of the main report.
