Chinese Univ. Students Trained in Cuba Receive Diplomas
Some 27 Chinese students received their Spanish Language B.A. diplomas today, in a ceremony that preceded the graduation this week of another 198 students in that specialty as well as Tourism, and Pedagogy.

Some 27 Chinese students received their Spanish Language B.A. diplomas today, in a ceremony that preceded the graduation this week of another 198 students in that specialty as well as Tourism, and Pedagogy.
The graduates received their degrees at the University of Foreign Languages in Dalian, in the northeastern province of Liaoning, thus formalizing the conclusion of a degree that included a final year of study in their own country.
Authorities from the Chinese Ministry of Education, the host institution, and Lidia Cuba, dean of the Faculty of Non-Native Spanish Speakers at the University of Havana, attended the ceremony.
A similar graduation was held yesterday at the University of International Studies of Xi'an, province of Shaanxi, where another 53 students received the mentioned diplomas and, for the first time, 21 in the specialty of Pedagogy and an equal number in Tourism.
Some days before, some 59 students from the University of International Studies of Sichuan and 44 from the University of Science and Technology, in southeastern China, also received their diplomas in similar ceremonies.
Began in 2006, those collaboration programs also include medicine and nursing, and most of participants have come from the less developed Chinese provinces.
