Book on Fidel Castro Presented in Mexico
The book Fidel Castro, Guerrillero del Tiempo (Warrior of Time), which narrates life passages of the leader of the Cuban Revolution, was presented by its author, Katiuska Blanco in Mexico City.

The book Fidel Castro, Guerrillero del Tiempo (Warrior of Time), which narrates life passages of the leader of the Cuban Revolution, was presented by its author, Katiuska Blanco in Mexico City. 

Political and cultural personalities and other Mexican, as well as Cubans in state mission and residents here, filled the hall Che Guevara, at the Cuban embassy in Mexico. 

Initially, Ambassador Dagoberto Rodriguez referred to the work as journalist, writer and historian of this book's author, which shows the extraordinary human dimension of Fidel Castro.

Then, Blanco told several anecdotes about her interviews with the legenday revolutionary.

Among her stories included a trip to Biran, a Cuban eastern town where was born and lived until his youth Fidel Castro, who in that occasion shared with the Colombian writer Gabriel Garcia Marquez about their memories of Bogotazo, an event that marked him in his revolutionary experience.

Bogotazo is the period of protests and repression that followed the assassination of Jorge Gaitan on April 9, 1948, in downtown Bogota, Colombia's capital, in which the Cuban leader was when he was a student.

Blanco also noted other moments in the rebel life of Fidel Castro, like the Cayo Confites expedition, the preparations for the departure of Mexico to restart the fight in the Cuban mountains and the liberation war.

She added that Fidel gave great importance to the writing of the book, because its contents can be a contribution in the current battle of ideas.

Blanco also quoted other books about Fidel Castro's life like his dialogues with Ignacio Ramonet, Tomas Borge and Frei Betto.

She also narrated the extraordinary role of Celia Sanchez, Fidel's assistant in the Sierra Maestra, in the custody of the historical documents in those years.

Finally, Blanco said that in the title worked different members of the Historical Affairs Office of the State Council of Cuba and others.

In Mexico, the book Fidel Castro, Guerillero del Tiempo, was previously presented in the city of Morelia and will presented next Friday in Guadalajara.
