Meninos e jovens cubanos homenageiam as mulheres
Cuban children and youth organizations recognized the importance of women in the Revolution on the occasion of the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the creation of the Federation of Cuban Women (FMC) on Monday, various publications noted today.
Juventud Rebelde journal published a message in which it highlights the importance of women like Mariana Grajales, Ana Betancourt, Celia Sanchez, Vilma Espin and many others worthy of tribute.
"Our eternal gratitude" added the text of the Young Communist League (UJC), the Jose Marti Pioneer Organization (which includes children and teenagers), the Pre-university Student Federation (FEEM) and the University Student Federation (FEU).
The signatories said they are proud of how women combine their daily dedication to work and their responsibility within the family.
The journal dedicates two of its pages to depict the work of young Cubans, such as a brick maker, a weightlifter, a bank worker, a research scientist and a housewife.
"We need to win more prominent roles in areas where we have not done enough", Aymara Bello, accounting manager of a branch of the Bank of Credit and Commerce in Las Tunas province, said
The FMC was created on August 23, 1960 by Cuban Revolution Leader Fidel Castro and Vilma Espin who was its leader until her death in 2007.
