Serbia's press highlights the work of Cuban medical brigade in Italy

Serbia's press highlighted on Wednesday Cuban medical brigade's return to Cuba from Italy after having helped to fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.

Alo! newspaper notes it is the second Cuban medical brigade in the Lombardy region, the most affected by the rapid expansion of the novel coronavirus in that country.

The journal indicates that the brigade made up of 36 doctors and 15 nurses carried out over 5,000 interventions, treated over 500 Covid-19 patients, including 210 recoveries from Covid-19.

The daily remembers that these healthcare professionals belong to the 'Henry Reeve' international contingent, founded by the initiative of the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro.

The press release includes the farewell given by the Mayoress of Crema, Stefania Bonaldi, who pointed out that the contribution of Cuban specialists in the fight against the virus was essential.

Alo! newspaper adds that she expressed her joy because, in addition to helping fight against the epidemic, they made a contribution to forge the sisterhood between both nations.

The Tanjug news agency also inserted a report entitled, 'Cuban Doctors Who Cured Italians Returned Home,' illustrated with a photo of the brigade at Havana Airport.
