Cuba Donates Literary Texts for Teaching Spanish in Syria
Cuba contributed today to the development and improvement of the study of the Spanish language in Syria by donating several titles of Cuban and Latin American literature.
In the official residence of the Caribbean island in the capital were delibered dozens of volumes from relevant authors to the Spanish Language Department of the Arts Faculty of Damascus University.
Fernando Pérez Maza, Cuba's ambassador to Syria, told the participants the interest of his mission to contribute to better learning the language of Cervantes in the Middle East nation.
He also stressed the high linguistic and literary value of the gift, most of them significant works of Cuban and Latin American authors.
The representation of authorities, teachers and students of the Arts Faculty in Damascus appreciated the gesture and assured that the texts will be an essential tool for study and work.
They added that the volumes will also serve to open the first part of a future library of Latin American literature.
